Online Health Journal

What up readers,

So sometimes it's hard to keep everything straight and it's easy to lose track of little improvements we make on a day to day basis...doesn't make you feel good. I found this great website to help me track my health progress. It's called Remember It Now! and I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, wanted to pass it along to anyone out there who needs to keep track of medications, set reminders or keep a journal of progress or dietary needs or something. It's great because you can have reminders sent to your cell phone, like if you have to pop a pill or check a wound or something. Check it out!

Me, Alex Mack... The Beginning

The story of Alex Mack all began in west Philadelphia, where I was born and raised. I was playing on a playground, where I typically spent most of my days. I was just chillin’ out, maxin', relaxing all cool, shootin' some bball… right next to the pool, when a couple of guys who were up to no good - started makin' trouble up here in the hood. I got in one little fight…and then I got shot.

After that, my life really got flipped upside down. I was hanging out with the wrong crowd, started smoking some marijuana which gateway drugged me into experimenting with other substances. My recreational use turned into an addiction, and I started dealing to make ends meet. This got me into serious trouble and I ended up owing some very dangerous thugs a lot of money. They eventually found me and put a bullet into my back, missing my spine by a mere centimeter.

I currently work for Crime Survivors as an advocate for all victims of violent crimes. I created this blog to help others, like me, find resources to help them cope with some of the obstacles I faced throughout my recovery and beyond. My goal is to make this blog interactive in the sense that I can address any questions or concerns that may arise with my fellow bloggers.

We are all survivors.  We are here to change ourselves and do good.
